2013년 02월 27일 [슬쩍 나가셨네요]

 

나의 마음이 기쁘고 나의 영광도 즐거워하며 내 육체도 안전히 살리니-시편 16:9

나의 사촌 켄은 4년 동안 암과 용기 있게 싸웠습니다. 그의 삶의 마지막 며칠 동안 그의 아내와 세 자녀, 그리고 손자손녀들이 그의 방을 오가며 시간을 함께 보내면서 특별한 작별인사를 나누었습니다. 모든 사람이 자리를 잠시 비운 사이에 그는 영원 속으로 들어갔습니다. 그가 세상을 떠난 것을 가족들이 알게 되었을 때, 어린 손녀 하나가 “할아버지가 슬쩍 나가셨네요.”라고 귀엽게 말했습니다. 주님이 켄과 한 순간 이 세상에 함께 계셨고, 다음 순간 켄의 영혼은 천국에서 주님과 함께 하였습니다.

시편 16편은 켄이 특별히 좋아하여 그의 장례식에서 낭독해줄 것을 부탁한 시편입니다. 그는 하나님과의 개인적인 관계가 어떤 보화보다도 더 소중하다고 했던 시편기자 다윗의 말에 동의하였습니다(2,5절). 하나님이 그의 피난처이기에, 다윗은 죽음이 결코 믿는 자의 삶을 빼앗아갈 수 없음을 알고 있었습니다. 다윗은 “내 영혼을 스올(무덤)에 버리지 아니하시며”(10절)라고 말했습니다. 켄이나 예수님을 구주로 아는 그 어느 누구도 죽음에 버려지지 않을 것입니다.

예수님의 죽음과 부활 때문에 우리도 언젠가는 다시 살아날 것입니다(행 2:25-28; 고전 15:20-22). 그리고 “주의 오른쪽에는 영원한 즐거움이 있다”(시 16:11)라는 것을 알게 될 것입니다.

 

[GRANDPA SNUCKED OUT]

 

My heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope. —Psalm 16:9

My cousin Ken fought a courageous 4-year battle with cancer.

In his final days, his wife, three children, and several grandchildren were in and out of his room, spending time with him and sharing special goodbyes. When everyone was out of the room for a moment, he slipped into eternity. After the family realized that he was gone, one young granddaughter sweetly remarked, “Grandpa snucked out.” One moment the Lord was with Ken here on earth; the next moment Ken’s spirit was with the Lord in heaven.

Psalm 16 was a favorite psalm of Ken’s that he had requested to be read at his memorial service. He agreed with the psalmist David who said that there was no treasure more valuable than a personal relationship with God (vv.2,5). With the Lord as his refuge,

David also knew that the grave does not rob believers of life. He said, “You will not leave my soul in Sheol [the grave]” (v.10). Neither Ken nor anyone else who knows Jesus as Savior will be abandoned in death.

Because of Jesus’ own death and resurrection, we too will rise one day (Acts 2:25-28; 1 Cor. 15:20-22). And we will fi-nd that “at [God’s] right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Ps. 16:11). —Anne Cetas

부활하고 승천하여 높은 자리에 앉게 되었네

하나님은 현세에서 우리의 보화이시며,

천국에서 하나님과 함께 있음은 영원한 기쁨이 될 것이다.

 

God is our treasure now, and being with Him

in heaven will bring pleasures forever.
